Help! My computer has a virus!?

I turned on my computer the other day and instead of MySpace, the Google homepage and it was a load of crap pop ups came up. I may have been because my parents might have installed a keylogger, but when I checked the list of programs that said we OuterInfo. I did a Google search and found it was a thing of ads, so uninstalled it. Then I saw an icon called "delself on the desktop, I clicked to open, a window briefly flashed and then disappeared, along with the icon. I turned off the computer immediately, but now every time I turn on it keeps saying I have spyware in oo there. We used to have Norton Anti-Virus but it makes the computer go so slow that it is practically useless. Any help? Does anyone know of a good free program downloadable to eradicate and prevent this in the future? Preferablly something that will not slow too? Thanks!: D
